This App is an AWS S3 bucket. You can find a full version of this guide on our blog.
Create a S3 bucket in AWS
Create a new bucket with the AWS console. In AWS, click on your new bucket name and go to Permissions. Then click on Access Control List. Under Access for other AWS Accounts, click on the button Add account. Add the following Canonical ID: 877f5fce8118db233f7c1d7167b0ee8cbe9601e3b83000e7904d53706af361c9
Give Blit the following permissions:
- List objects
- Write objects
Configure the Blit App
Once your bucket is created, you can create the corresponding App in Blit. Go to Apps and click Add an App. Fill out the form:
- Name: a custom name used in web captures to select the app.
- Type: S3
- Bucket name: the name of the bucket you created in AWS (test-blit in the example above)
- Publicly Readable: check this box to make the image accessible from the internet
- Path: the folder where captures will be uploaded. See our guide for using variables.
- File name: the file name used for the captures. See our guide for using variables.
Then click on Verify. Blit will attempt to upload the image blit.png to the path specified. If there is a problem, an error message will be shown. You can also check if you see the file in your S3 bucket by using the AWS console.
Now that the app has been configured and verified, you can use it with new and existing captures.
